Jeanne's willingness to keep learning and keep seeing new points of view are especially needed now in this time

Sullivan_Justine.jpgI have admired Jeanne Pupke for many years. During her time on the UUA board, I was impressed with her command of the complex finances and organizational dynamics of our association. Working more closely with her in recent years, I am convinced that Jeanne is the one who can lead us into the future we are called to. Jeanne serves a large congregation and has mentored and supervised many new ministers as both head of staff and as teaching pastor. She has also shared from her abundance with neighboring congregations in times of crisis and natural disaster. She models that part of our covenant that calls us to be a community of gathered communities, supporting and encouraging one another. She works for justice and healing in the larger world in areas of race, class, gender expression, and sexual orientation. Jeanne is a strong and visionary leader, and she surrounds herself with people who round out and expand her own vision and experience.

That combination of experience and a willingness to keep learning and keep seeing new points of view are especially needed now in this time of both conflict within our association and an unprecedented need for our liberal religious voice in the public square. I am confident that Jeanne will serve us faithfully and well as UUA president, and it is my honor to offer my endorsement.
