First, an extremely strong religious leader and minister; able and ready to be the lead minister for the UUA.
Second, an accomplished manager ready to work with and lead the large non-profit corporation that is the UUA.
Third, a strong team player, dedicated to working closely with the UUA Board of Trustees to strengthen the Association and, most important, the association's member congregations.
Jeanne and I served together on the UUA Board of Trustees for four years. Jeanne was often minister to the board, a challenge for any minister.
During much of her time on the board, Jeanne was the Chair of the Finance Committee; I was a member of that committee. Jeanne worked closely with the UUA headquarters and field staffs to carefully manage the myriad financial issues that impacted virtually every aspect of the association. She became intimately familiar with the inner workings of the association and worked to remedy some procedural financial issues. As President, she will use her knowledge for the major benefit of the entire Association.
As a board member, Jeanne was adept at helping the board refocus and move forward on difficult issues under consideration. Her commitment to working closely with the board is extremely important. That commitment will help both the board and Jeanne as president accomplish great things.
Jeanne is the candidate best qualified to lead our Association.
