Since meeting her in 2009, I have hoped that someday Jeanne Pupke would become president of UUA. Thus, I am thrilled to endorse her wholeheartedly. Rare is the minister who possesses the traits, competencies, and experience to head a large non-profit organization of independent congregations. Even rarer is one with a prophetic voice, a passion for social justice in all its forms, and a track record of growing a large congregation to be even larger (by 71% during her tenure). In fact, there is only one person who fits this mold: Jeanne Pupke.
As a deeply engaged lay leader in my own congregation and friend to many UU ministers through my spouse Rev. Archene Turner, I can truly say Jeanne is the one for our not normal times. She will truly lead our faith in building a commonwealth of strong congregations.
